John’s early years on the Birmingham music scene, gave him the experience to form his own band called the Wave Band, when he moved over to Jersey in the early seventies. Disillusioned with the rock scene, John moved more into cabaret, working at some of Jerseys premier hotels and clubs. Backing big name cabaret artists, such as Joe Longthorn, Bernie Clifton, Jack Jones, Adam Faith, Shirley Bassey, The Rockin Berries to name just a few.

During this time John was performing on cruise liners, his first performance being on the Himalaya in 1973 ,followed later by Ocean Islander, The Oriana, Black Prince and the QE2, again in cabaret as a musician working up to 50 or 60 hours a week, however all this hard work paid off, and proved to be invaluable experience, putting John on the map as a professional, talented singer and performer.

From the latter end of the nineties, John then entertained in his own cabaret spot on board Cunard's private-style exclusive yachts, the Sea Goddesses I & II, now know as SeaDream ships.
For more than thirty years, John has performed and enthralled many audiences with his own unique style and panache, from as far apart as the Caribbean to Australia. He has worked with many artists including a stint entertaining the armed forces, when they were in the Falklands, along with Jim Davidson and Pans People.
